the IX Science Festival took place in the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona.
It is an event run by the UB and offers a program specially designed for schools, with workshops, demonstrations or experimental activities, among others, designed and directed by researchers from the University of Barcelona.
In this sense, Professor Dra. M. Teresa Lluch, Dra. Montse Puig, Dr. Antoni Moreno, Dr. Zaida Agüera and Dr. Sara Sanchez, participated in this event leading the workshop entitled: “Positive mental health and self-care: cuanto más me cuido, más bien me siento”.
The methodology used was experiential. The population to whom the dynamic was aimed were primary and secondary school students in the metropolitan area of Barcelona.
Secondary school students were asked about their understanding of the concept of positive mental health, what self-care they did for themselves and were encouraged to participate in the activity.
From all this, the conclusions that were drawn from this edition were: knowing how to recognize the same emotions and give them meaning in young people; contact with activities that improve Mental Health; provide tools to improve personal self-care; publicize the Decalogue of Positive Mental Health; share experiences among the participants; facilitate the personal introspection of the participants; learn more about the concepts of positive mental health; stimulate the emotional experiences of children and young people.
This is the second meeting in which the team participates and the final result was very positive.
As a result, the team hopes to perform again in future editions.
